Its Christmas. I have seen no family today: I’ve seen no Fiancee today, and I’ve opened no presents. I went to fork for a while, and afterwards took a massive ride through the city on my bike: amazed that there was nothing and nobody on the streets. George street was stagnant, I rolled through the street like it was a ghost town, I don’t remember the last time I was this free-minded. There was once a time, before now, when I felt beautiful despite the outer core (Pictures above dated 2008). That was the last time I felt like this. I have been listening to old recordings of when I played guitar confidently, and decided that because I no longer see “myself” in the songs, that I’m willing to share it all with you. I have uploaded a Zip Folder of my “album” to my website, and I believe that it’s a good enough Christmas Present for some of you.

Today was kind of fun. We met my mum to start a day of rocking and rolling and just generally enjoying the beautiful spring weather. We headed to Tempe to see the markets, and on the way our bus was stalled for a good half an hour whilst waiting for the Gas Seam Protesting to clear the path (pictured); It was a bit annoying but didn’t cause too much of a headache. Whilst at the Markets, I found a delightful new western shirt and Kat nabbed a bunch of amazingly cute accessories. Pretty content with the weekend, not excited for this week but it will work out.

I guess today hasn’t been much of a progressive day. I went for a walk to the bank to change my address and pull some cash out, then I stopped on the way home at CC’s Flashback and found a delightful MARCS black suit jacket to go with a black pair of pants that were feeling kind of orphaned. Then whilst doing the washing, I remembered the phone that the old gentleman who lives upstairs gave to me yesterday whilst I helped him clean the basement out for a while. It’s a 1956 brown-green little number, with the wind style and big didgits. I don’t have a phone line anywhere in this apartment block but he assured me that it worked and I was to try and put it on “That Ebay Thing” to see if I could flog it off to “Them Collectors”. This guy upstairs is kind of amazing like that. I was wearing my Bull’s Head Bolo tie yesterday, and he started saying how he had a dozen Bolo’s that I have to see. Anyways, I decided to photograph it to see if I could find anything of interest in it. Ill post the official photographs later. Today I decided to use a bunch of paper light from the side, which I didn’t find half as effective as the photos I took last week using the Baking Paper. I should really buy a light-tent but I cant afford it. I should also get my Soft-Box back from loan someday, but I cant see that happening anytime soon.

This has to be my favorite camera, I photographed it last week in an attempt to sell it, yet there is too much affection for all of my collection to sell them. I use this guy mainly to hold up books and look aesthetic, but I was thinking today how much I remembered that feeling where taking pictures was my everything.

I don’t know if many of you remember the old walkabout journeys which I was doing last winter, but im looking to do another one either Wednesday, Thursday or Friday night and I want you to come.

Im looking to find someone or some people that are interested in street photography so that we can head out together and make it something more memorable than just my loner self with a big warm coat and a camera.

If you are interested, Let me know. You don’t need to have the most expensive camera or even a tripod. You just need to be ready to see the real world and not be afraid of what it contains. I have shot Kings Cross, Redfern, Surry Hills and Waterloo at 2AM and come out alive… It’s not as scary as you would think.

Its free, fun and something you tend to talk about for a few weeks afterwards. We will do Sydney CBD until you are confident enough to step further.

As you may have gathered from my partially being online today, my photoshoot today was rescheduled to Friday when the weather is meant to be a little bit more dramatic. I have not wasted a second of today however. After I received my ABN, I decided to go all out, and actually make my presence in the world official, I went to VistaPrint and designed 500 business cards which I will hand to people I feel are attractive enough to model for me, and I re-registered my website so that my Emails don’t get cut off. I also spent an hour re-designing my website, It doesn’t have all of the fun fancy features that it used to contain, however it serves the purpose that a website is meant to serve – a website. Take a look at jasonmichealhenson.com if you wish, although I know for a fact that it will only really look good on a 15” Macbook, because I have not designed it to be flexible, maybe because I am lazy. I also applied for the general jobs which I will need until I save up enough to put a deposit on a studio, and to be honest, im about three packet of cigarettes away from being bankrupt. This isn’t my BIG news however, It is still waiting and im still perfecting the idea of it, yet I can tell you that it has something to do with making money.

I got this jacket today from Cotton On for $10, which is about $109 less than the one I wanted from Dangerfeild, and this one seems cuter. Today I realised that I needed these last few weeks to focus on exactly how much I love my fiancée. We all know I spent forever being infatuated with another girl, an infatuation which resulted in an unattractive tattoo which im left with forever, a book, considerable amount of money wasted and ultimately at the end, cost me a job I adored. The biggest thing I lost is the person who I felt id never loose. As much as it all hurt, I feel happy today, I forgive her, officially, and I forgive myself. I am madly in-love with my fiancé, she is my world and my air and my water and my bread; she consumes my thoughts, and I always knew this from the second that I met her however maybe I wasn’t sure. Tonight, she is the one going out, and I think that I want to put some film in one of my 35mm’s and go for a walk. I love photography, I remember what it was like so long ago to feel it in my blood, and to feel it in my soul. Last night I guess I was grounded, people know me as a photographer who has been in the industry for longer than they have even known the industry existed, people respect my photographs because they know its my experience and passion that gets me places. Im going to focus my energy into positive things, Im going to open that studio I always wanted to open, Im going to do things to photography and the community that people cant even comprehend. Arrogance is the old me, Ambitious is the new me. Fine tuned sweethearts.
